The September 29th press briefing.

Well. Today was the day. The nintendo press briefing where they announced the release date and price of the Nintendo 3DS... In Japan. Heres what we know.

The Japanese release date is February 26th 2011 for 25,000 Yen. They said that it will be released in Europe and North America sometime in march. The price in North America and Europe is still unknown. I am pretty disappointed that we aren't getting it before the holidays but that's fine. What I really have trouble with is the price. 25,000 yen converts to about 300$ US which is pretty pricy. Japan/US prices can vary though so I'm crossing my fingers for it to be cheaper than 300.

That's the bad news. The good news is that we got to see a bunch of cool new stuff. They showed the final design. The slide pad is white now and it's only going to be available in blue and black. They announced a Gameboy and Gameboy color Virtual console along with classic games converted to 3D. DSi ware and 3DS ware content will also be available for purchase. Two Japanese television networks have teamed up with Nintendo to distribute 3D films experimentally that can be downloaded for free. Then they Showed off some games,

So all in all I would say that I'm quite satisfied, but still curious about a lot of things. One being the 3D movie distribution for North America, but I think we'll find that out when Nintendo of America does their briefing.

Thanks for reading :D
